First Win

Hello!

So, they won. Looked pretty good out there, too. Beating an undefeated team is pretty good, even if it was the Coyotes. Nice goal from Vanek, MacArthur scored one too. Myers got his first NHL point, good for him, he has been playing great. It appears that so far the Sabres PP is not as good as it was last year, though PK is vary good. Miller had a good game, better than vs. Montreal.

Hockey Is Here!

Hello!

Hockey season (both NHL and youth hockey) has started, my first game will be this Saturday, my first practice was yesterday, I have another practice tonight, and another one on Thursday.

I have scored two goals in four games of soccer, which is pretty good.

The Sabres still have that old knack for losing a lead then the game in overtime.

Bye!

I did not make the cut for the league I have been playing in. I had to switch to Schenectady from Bethlehem.

Soccer

Hello!

Soccer season has started, my first practice was last night. My first game is on Sunday. My dad coaches my team, so I know who everyone is ahead of time. I usually play goalie quite a bit, but last year I tryed forward and liked that too, I scored two goals in one game. I hope to be able to play school soccer next year, but right now our school district does not allow homeschoolers to play school sports. Hockey tryouts are on Tuesday and Thursday (not today Thursday, in one week Thursday). The Sabres preseason starts tonight, at 7:00 in Buffalo.

Hockey Camp

Hello!

I have been at hockey camp this week, so I haven't been able to post for a while. Hockey camp is usually fun, but this year it was a little less fun, because I had a bruise on the front of my ankle which was rubbing on the laces of my skate. Tryouts for hockey are on the 22, so that is pretty exciting. Deep curls are my favorite drill, and we only got to do those once. Two of the younger kids play goalie, so they suited up.

Garlic

Hello!

I spent yesterday sorting garlic and hanging out at our CSA. By the end of the day, I was kind of stiff.

I also ordered Guild Wars (a computer game), a stock for my paintball gun, and a red dot sight for my paintball gun.

Bye!

Vacation

Hello!

We just got back from our annual family vacation in the Adirondacks. Usually we go to Eagle Bay, but this year we stayed in Big Moose, which is a bit less "main stream". We all had a great time. The first day, we picked up pizza on the way to the cabin, then ate dinner around 7:45, then I found a Rochester trivia book, so we had fun with that. The next day, we went on a hike, the name of the place we went to is Billy's Bald Spot. Later that same day, my Uncle John came with his two daughters, Laura and Elizabeth, so that brought the crowd up to nine (four of us, my grandparents, and then my uncle). Sunday, my Aunt Emily and Uncle Andy came, I went for a kayak with my Uncle John, and Alyson, Dad, Elizabeth, and Laura went for a canoe. Monday, my Grandmother's cousin Priscilla and her daughter Kathy came over, while Uncle John, Elizabeth, Alyson, Dad, and I went for a walk to Constable Pond, which is a five-mile hike. Tuesday, Alyson, Uncle John, Elizabeth, and I went on a seaplane ride, while Dad stayed with Laura, who was sleeping in the car (she is 21/2), while everyone else went to Moss Lake, and my grandparent's friend Marylin came over to the cabin. Everyone ended up at Moss lake to go swimming. Wednesday, I didn't really feel like doing anything, and Uncle John, Elizabeth, and Laura all left for Old Forge, then for their house, and then Andy and Emily left, too. Thursday, Alyson, Dad, and I all took a hike up Black Bear Mountain, and decided that we would rather have rocks in our socks on Black Bear Mountain, than have black bears in our socks on Rocky Mountain. Mom, Grandma, and Grandpa went on a short walk to a waterfall, then we all went to Moss Lake to go swimming. Friday, we packed up, ate brunch at the Big Moose Station restaurant, then the four of us went to the West Pond Waterfall, and West Pond itself. After that, we went to Inlet and hung out there, mom and Alyson went to the bead shop, and Dad and I went to the dock on fourth lake, and then we all went to the farm where we get our CSA share, and then home.

The Fair

Hello!

The fair was this past weekend.

Alyson's horseshow during the fair was Friday, the horseshow was sorta fun, but there is absolutely no shade, and official horseshow wear includes a coat, dress shirt, and long pants, but the judge said that it was too hot for coats, so at least that was good. Several of the kids were not feeling good, and then they would not feel like drinking water, which would then make them feel worse. On Sunday, we took down the stall display, then went on rides, which reminded us of something rather sad. Every year the fair gets smaller. This year, there were 17 rides at the fair, total including two of the same ride, just in two different colors. Five were "little kid rides", and four were "crazy person rides", so people who are not ride-crazy-spinning-while-flipping-upsidedown-people or people who are not into doing rides for 5-year-olds, there were only 8 rides.
